Nikkei Europe is the European subsidiary of Nikkei Inc, Japan’s leading business newspaper publisher. Nikkei’s flagship newspaper, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, often referred to The Nikkei, has established itself as the number one source of business news in Japan, with an average daily circulation of over 3 million copies. Nikkei is also well known for the Nikkei 225 Stock Market Index, which is used around the world as a benchmark for the Japanese economy.
Since its establishment in 1876, Nikkei has grown in size and scope. In addition to Nikkei’s flagship newspaper, we also publish four specialised papers which cover specific areas of business in depth. Nikkei Digital Media provides all of Nikkei’s database services and is responsible for calculating the Nikkei 225, 300 and 500 stock market indices. Nikkei Digital Media also provides the Telecom 21 Japanese news service and the NEEDS service using cutting edge technology to deliver accurate and timely information and our services are used by universities, government departments, financial institutions and corporations around the world.
In addition to a large number of news bureaus established all over the world, Nikkei has four main overseas offices in New York, London, Singapore and Hong Kong, involved in newspaper sales, advertising and information services.
